Day 1
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by your guide and will be transferred to Lake Duluti Lodge, where you will spend your first night before your safari starts.
Lake Duluti Lodge is a fine countryside retreat that perfectly combines an authentic African rural setting with outstanding amenities and service. The lodge is made up of 18 spacious contemporary African styled romantic chalets, ideally positioned for maximum privacy inside an active coffee farm on the outskirts of Arusha. Guests can enjoy delicious, hearty meals prepared with fresh produce from the lodge's vegetable garden. Sunbeds dotted around the inviting infinity pool are perfect for a lazy afternoon. The Lakeshore Sundowner Lounge, located at the edge of the shimmering lake, is an idyllic spot for guests to savour refreshing drinks and light lunches. Guests in need of relaxation can head to the massage room for a bout of pampering. Tours to coffee plantations, vegetable farms and cultural villages, hiking, birdwatching, canoeing, nature walks and day trips to Mt Kilimanjaro are enough to keep the adventurous happy!
Arusha is known as the gateway to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the Northern Parks
Day 2
This morning, after your breakfast, you will be transferred to Lake Manyara Tree Lodge, where you will spend two nights. En route you will enjoy a game drive in Tarangire National Park.
Located slightly off the main safari route, Tarangire National Park is a lovely quiet park in Northern Tanzania that is most famous for its elephant migration, birding and quiet authentic safari atmosphere.
The landscape is fantastic, with many beautiful baobab trees dotted all over.
Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is the only lodge in Lake Manyara National Park. With only 10 elegant stilted tree house suites, it is located within a remote corner of the reserve, set in an ancient mahogany forest. Furnishings and decor combine the natural beauty of this breath-taking reserve and the cool leafy area that surrounds it.
A wilderness of diverse habitats and rich in game, Lake Manyara National Park is one of Tanzania's smaller wilderness enclaves. Richly populated with game, within a wealth of bio diverse habitats, a truly unique experience is sure to be had in this relatively small area!
Situated at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, the park consists of forest, woodland, grassland and swamps. This is the home of the famous tree-climbing lions as well as baboon, buffalo, zebra, hippo, giraffe; wildebeest, and more than 350 species of bird, including the beautiful flamingo.
Day 4
This morning, after your breakfast, you will be transferred to Gibbs Farm, where you will spend two nights. En route you will enjoy a game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. The following day you will do a game drive in the Ngorongoro Conservation area and enjoy a packed lunch on the crater floor.
Gibb’s Farm is a grand old dame, and is among the oldest guesthouses in Northern Tanzania. The old colonial farmhouse, built by German settlers in 1929, remains a charming, well-looked-after-private house with roaring fires and friendly hospitality. Extensive coffee fields, a dairy, pig farm and 10 acre vegetable, fruit & herb gardens surround the Farmhouse and intimate cluster of cottages.
Fresh farm style meals, afternoon tea and walks through lush Floral Gardens have calmed and restored international travelers for over 40 years.
A four course meal is served every night.
Few things in Tanzania compare to the breathtaking natural beauty of the Ngorogoro Crater. Widely regarded as the “Eighth Wonder of the World” and a Unesco World Heritage Site, this collapsed volcanic caldera covers an area of 8300 square kilometres and encompasses several different ecosystems.
What makes Ngorogoro special is its concentration of animals. An estimated 30 000 animals - including the famed Big 5 - inhabit an area of 260 square kilometers inside the 600m deep caldera, which forms its own, unique eco-system. Ngorogoro is literally “Wildlife Central”!
The greater Ngorongoro Conservation Area is also home to one of the most iconic tribes in Africa - the Maasai - who were moved here from the Serengeti. With their nomadic lifestyle, the Maasai co-exist with relatively minimal impact on their wild neighbours, helping to preserve this unique African treasure.
Day 6
This morning, after your breakfast, you will be transferred to Manyara Airstrip, for your connection flight to Kogatende. TFC flight Manyara to Kogatende estimate time of departure 08h35 and estimate time of arrival 10h15.
Upon arrival in Kogatende you will be met by a Nomad Lamai representative and transferred to Nomad Lamia Camp, where you will spend two nights. En route you will enjoy a game drive in the Serengeti National Park.
In the following days you will enjoy a game drive in Serengeti National Park on a shared safari vehicle.
Nomad Lamai Serengeti Camp sits tucked amongst the rocks of Kogakuria Kopje, with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, just a few miles from where the wildebeest cross the Mara River.
At Lamai Serengeti there are just 12 rooms in all. These are split between two entirely separate lodges, namely the Main Lodge which has 8 rooms and the smaller Private Lodge which has 4 rooms. All rooms are a clever blend of canvas, plaster and natural poles.
Includes: Accommodation, breakfast, lunch, dinner, all activities on a shared basis, including game drives & short walking safaris; scheduled road transfers to / from Kogatende airstrip; all drinks (except champagne & premium wines) & laundry.
The Serengeti National Park is arguably the most famous in the world today, thanks largely to the millions of wildebeest which migrate across it every year. It is, quite literally, a paradise - and in safari terms, if you have not experienced the magic of the Serengeti’s vast, sweeping plains, then you have not truly experienced Africa!
An untouched wilderness region, the northern Serengeti's Mara River area is relatively inaccessible and devoid of tourists. Comprising a vast pristine area of wooded rolling hills interspersed with open grassy patches and large granite outcrops, the Northern Serengeti boasts stunning landscapes and optimal wildlife viewing.
During the dry season, the Mara River famously transforms to a wild stampede with massive herds of wildebeest and zebra thundering across the river, while enormous Nile crocodiles lurk just below the murky surface.
Day 8
This morning after breakfast you will be transferred to Kogatende Airstrip for your flight to Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO). The TFC flight from Kogatende to JRO departs at 10h30 and the estimated time of arrival is 13h00.
