(includes all meals, drinks and safari activities)
The Linyanti Ebony offers the perfect setting for an authentic and wild safari experience. As the only source of water in the dry months, the Linyanti marshes are one of the most sought after destinations in Northern Botswana, boasting a great diversity of game and a peaceful atmosphere.
The area offers spectacular birding all year round and is best known for its large herds of elephants that move down to the Linyanti River at the start of the winter months and only move back inland once the main rains arrive. Lion, sable, roan, leopard, and wild dog are also frequent visitors to Linyanti as is the elusive sitatunga antelope, red lechwe, hippo and crocodile.
Bordering the western boundary of Chobe in the Chobe Enclave, built on raised decking overlooking the Linyanti Marsh, this 10-bedded intimate tented camp offers you stunning views of the Linyanti River. Game drives in open 4×4 vehicles, walking excursions with an armed professional guide, boating and fishing along the recently replenished water lagoons, and mokoro excursions are all activities on offer to provide you the opportunity to enjoy this unique riverscape up close.
The camp’s well-appointed accommodation includes 3 twin bedded tents and 1 luxury family room. A private dining and lounge area with a splash pool makes the camp a perfect choice for family experiences or small groups requiring exclusive use of a camp. It also offers accommodation for tour leaders and private guides on escorted safaris.
Linyanti Ebony can be booked exclusively with a minimum of 6 people and is open all year round.
Accommodation at the Linyanti Ebony Camp is far from primitive with spacious tents, comfortable beds, and en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets, fixed showers and hot water.
Day 7
After your morning activity and brunch you will be transferred to Saile airstrip for your light aircraft flight to Khwai Tented Camp.
3 nights at Khwai Tented Camp
(includes all meals, drinks and safari activities)
Khwai Tented Camp has recently been relocated to a semi-permanent site within this community-run concession on the eastern border of the Moremi Game Reserve. The new exclusive location of the Khwai Tented Camp, on the banks of a lagoon flowing into the Khwai River, acts as a boundary between the reserve and the community area, offering visitors staying here several unique ways to experience Africa.
Besides the day-time drives, which can feature Africa’s big attractions – lion, cheetah, leopard, wild dog, elephant, buffalo, hippo and giraffe – guests at Khwai Tented Camp are able to explore nature after sunset with a night drive. This activity, along with the guided walking safaris, is not usually permitted in the National Parks or Game Reserves, and allows guests to get an up close and personal experience with some of Africa’s nocturnal and / or more elusive animals. The camp also provides the opportunity to explore the great stands of leadwood and mopane woodlands as well as open grasslands and banks of the Khwai River on foot.
Khwai Tented Camp preserves the romance of yester-year, a simpler life in harmony with nature. There are no permanent structures; everything can be removed to leave the wilderness exactly as we found it, minimizing our impact on the environment.
Guests can enjoy spacious and comfortable tented accommodation, beds and private en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets and bucket showers under the stars. As the Khwai is a community-run concession all proceeds from tourism go directly to help local people and local projects through the Khwai Community Trust.
Day 8 & 9
The magnificent Khwai River is the hub for some of the most outstanding wildlife viewing in the Moremi and Khwai areas. Khwai Tented Camp is a small 8 bedded tented camp situated along this life supporting river. It is designed for the luxury camping seeker who is looking for the real African experience in a simple and yet understated tented safari experience.
The main focus is the wildlife experience, which includes walking and 4x4 excursions in the legendary Moremi game reserve. The style of the camp is the East African Meru tent, as used by the original explorers as they moved through the African wilderness.
Activities on offer are game drives, walking and night excursions including cultural village outings to the old bushman village of Khwai.
