Day 2 We start your safari an hour’s drive from Arusha at Tarangire National Park, a wonderful dry season park just south of Arusha, huge elephant herds on the swamps and the Tarangire river makes Tarangire a must see, overnight at Oliver’s Camp with your meals and drinks included. 2 nights at Oliver’s Camp (includes all meals, drinks, game drives & park fees) The camp features 8 beautifully furnished guest tents, furnished with solid wooden furniture, beautiful cloth, each with an outside shower. There is a lounge tent, as well as a library tent, where guests can relax with the superb surrounding views. The crew, who are much like a family, will prepare amazing meals in refined luxury-dining style.
Day 4 We drive you up the Great Rift Valley and onwards to Ngorongoro Crater where you will spend the day on the Crater floor, enjoy this World Heritage Site and spend the evening at Plantation Lodge with your meals included. Ngorongoro Crater Called the eighth wonder of the world and stretching across some 8,300 sq km, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in northern Tanzania boasts a blend of landscapes, wildlife, people and archaeology that is unsurpassed in Africa. The volcanoes, grasslands, waterfalls and mountain forests are home to an abundance of animals and to the Maasai 1 night at Plantation Lodge (includes all meals) Like a green oasis, Plantation Lodge rests on the soft, red-brown hills amidst the vastness and silence of East Africa. The individually furnished rooms and suites melting harmoniously into the flowering garden offer comfort and relaxation. Everywhere guests look, one can see and even feel the personal atmosphere of this owner-run lodge with furnishings that were selected with great attention to detail. Day 5 We fly you from Lake Manyara airstrip to the northern Serengeti where you will spend 3 days with the migration, the herds gather here from August to October and possible river crossings can be expected, overnight at Olakira Camp with your meals and drinks included. 3 nights at Olakira Camp (includes all meals, drinks, game drives and park fees) Olakira Camp is an intimate luxury tented camp that moves through the southern and Northern Serengeti, following in the footsteps of the great migration. Being in the middle of this wonderful migration spectacle, with wild animals roaming around camp at night, is a dream-come-true to even the most experienced of travelers. Olakira Camp consists of just 8 luxury en-suite tents, with large king-size beds and their own private verandas. From June to November: Olakira Mara River occupies one of the most pristine corners of the northern Serengeti... just 300 metres from one of the crossing points used by the herds to traverse the Mara River. From December to March: Olakira Camp is located in the southern Serengeti, or Ndutu area, where cheetah and lion find perfect hunting grounds in the endless grasslands of the famous Serengeti plains, during the Great Migration.
Day 8 Flight from Arusha airport to the island of Zanzibar where you will be transferred to Matemwe Main Lodge on the north east coast of the island, enjoy 5 nights relaxing at this wonderful beach property. 5 nights at Matemwe Lodge (full board) Matemwe lodge was founded in 1989 by two Swedish sisters, Helen and Katherina. Matemwe, perfectly situated opposite the spectacular Mnemba Atoll for diving and snorkeling. The Lodge is safely surrounded by the quietest and most beautiful beaches of Zanzibar. The lodge started off as a place where backpackers hung out with the Swedish sisters who founded Matemwe in 1989, local fishermen and other travelers. When Asilia took over, fabulous rooms, gourmet food, massages, swimming pools, great cocktails and wines were added to the relaxed atmosphere of the lodge. Nowadays friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, lush tropical gardens, white sand, swimming pools and massages, together with delicious food, make Matemwe the ultimate tropical paradise. The lodge consists of 12 spacious bungalows, built from local materials and surrounded by beautiful gardens, Each with its own private varanda, hammock, and couches, over looking the Indian ocean. All the suites have a king size bed, equipped with a mosquito net, and a large bathroom with a bath tub and walk-in shower. The open-air restaurant overlooks the ocean and has a tranquil lounging area too. Seafood is the specialty of the house, with all produce bought daily from the local markets. Lunch is a buffet offering a mix of African and European flavors. Dinner offers a choice of main courses with fish, meat and vegetarian options. Matemwe Bungalows has a multi-level swimming pool surrounded with lounge chairs overlooking the ocean. Freshly mixed cocktails are served at the poolside bar.
Day 13 We transfer you to Zanzibar International Airport for you to connect with your flight back home!
