Day 1

From Arusha Airport, you will fly on a local scheduled flight into Northern Serengeti (Kogatende Airstrip). At Kogatende Airstrip you will be met by the staff from Lemala Mara Camp and transferred to the camp whilst doing a game drive on the way. 

The Northern Serengeti is renowned for its sheer size, primeval landscapes and large populations of plains game that seasonally migrate to follow the nutritious pastures. It has become famous for the migration of 1.2 million wildebeest and the viewing of dramatic river crossings, which occur close to the camp.

The sheer density of wildlife makes it also a predator haven with frequent sightings of lion, leopard and cheetah. Resident game is prolific even when the migration is not present making the Lamai Wedge an all year round destination.

Lemala Mara is the ultimate seasonal camp in the Serengeti, within touching distance of the Mara River and set in a grove of large Euclea trees in the heart of the best game viewing area of the Northern Serengeti.

Here, in this immense remote wilderness - almost double the size of the Masai Mara - guests can enjoy fabulous landscapes and terrific off-road game viewing with practically no crowds. Resident wildlife numbers are exceptionally high with prides of lion up to 30 strong but when the migration starts arriving from June onwards, the area turns into a wildlife paradise par excellence.

This is a high specification luxury mobile camp with 8 large tents, a central mess with lounge and dining area and a campfire, with broad views across undulating hills and down to the distant Mara Triangle.

Lemala’s high specification mobile tents are some of the most spacious and comfortable seasonal tents in Tanzania. Each tent is fitted with 2 double beds or 1 king size leather bed, warm duvets, flush toilet, large safari shower, running water, wooden cabinets and flooring, 24-hour solar lighting, outside lounger, games table and much more.

The mess tent has separate living and dining areas with a central bar and is beautifully decorated with leather sofas, chandeliers, side cabinets, rugs and chests. In the evening, guests gather around the campfire for sundowners to share the day’s experiences before retiring to the dining room for some wine and delicious food.

Day 4

You will depart Lemala Mara Camp after breakfast to catch a scheduled flight to Ruaha National Park – Msembe Airstrip. ETD is 09h45 and arrival at Msembe is 15h00 (times may vary depending on charter company). At Msembe Airstrip you will be met by the staff from Kwihala Camp and transferred to the camp whilst doing a game drive on the way. You will have lunch and spend the rest of the afternoon just relaxing.

You will spend your days exploring Ruaha to find the best panoramas and wildlife. Activities include game drives and guided walks within Ruaha National Park.

3 nights Kwihala Camp, Ruaha National Park

From the first sight of one of the Kwihala tents you are immediately aware that this is a different style of camping. The camp is currently located in the north of the Ruaha National Park about 45 minutes’ drive from Msembe air strip near to the Mwagusi Sand River, in the Mbagi Area Site: Mwampeta 1. It has been sited on a hillside away from the park roads in deepest bush and enjoys wonderful views and superb sunrises and sunsets.

The camp consists of 6 individual and privately located tents which are fully furnished with comfortable beds, integral bathrooms (with bucket showers) and flushing toilets and each comes with a covered veranda area, is mosquito proofed and protected from the elements by a heavy duty fly-sheet.

The spacious mess tent is the main social centre of the camp. The separate dining and relaxing areas create a homely feel, although canvas walls and open sides leave one with no illusions that one is camping in the bush. Evening dining is outside under the stars - weather permitting.

Day 7

After breakfast you will depart Kwihala Camp for your scheduled flight to Dar, departing at 11h45 and arriving at 13h50. (Please note times may vary). Upon arrival in DAR International Airport, you will connect onward flight to Saadani.

You will be flying with Safarilink Flight DAR – Saadani, your flight departs at 16h40 and arrives in Saadani at 16h50. Upon arrival, you will be met by a representative from Saadani River Lodge, who will transfer you to the lodge; you will spend the next three nights at Saadani River Lodge.

For the next three days, you will enjoy game drives in Saadani National Park on a shared vehicle.

3 nights Saadani River Lodge, Saadani National Park

(includes all meals, drinks, laundry, wifi and 1 daily motorised game viewing activity)

The 17 stilted suites of Sanctuary Saadani River Lodge are the epitome of ‘luxury, naturally’, built for rest and relaxation on the southern shore of the Wami River close to the Saadani National Park.

All suites are built from Pinewood, Mtondoro hardwood and Teak wood and are covered in traditional thatching. With en-suite bathrooms overlooking the river and private balconies, our guests are never far away from nature. Four of the suites also feature air-conditioning.

The lodge offers guests a range of activities including game drives and river excursions. The in-house spa provides indulgent massages to enjoy between activities.

Day 10

Today you will be transferred to Saadani Airstrip where you will connect with your onward flight to DAR International Airport.

You will be flying with Safarilink Flight Saadani – DAR, your flight departs at 09h00 and arrives in DAR at 10h00,

Upon arrival at DAR International Airport you will connect with your onward flight home.
